Mazda Reaches Milestone With The Demio : New Mazda car

Mazda Reaches Milestone With The Demio
by Anthony Fontanelle
Japanese automaker Mazda recently reached yet another milestone after it has produced the 100,000th Mazda Demio in Japan. The said vehicle is known as the Mazda2 outside of Japan. The milestone was reached in less than a year as domestic production of the Demio started only by the end of May last year.
The new Demio according to the automaker was designed to set the bar higher in its class. Being up against strong competition in its niche, the Demio was designed to rise above its competitors. The Japanese automaker created the new Demio to be a green car which is what consumers around the world are looking for.
The Demio is also equipped with a wide array of safety features addressing the need for safe vehicles. And of course, the design of the Mazda2 was improved as aesthetics is playing a big part in the decision of auto buyers when considering vehicles for purchase.
The new Demio already received eight awards in Japan. This just goes to show that the improvement made by the Japanese automaker on the Demio has made it a car to contend with in the compact car segment. One of the awards that the Demio already has under its belt is the 2008 RJC Car of the Year.
The Mazda2 is not only successful in Japan but also in other countries in the world. Outside Japan, the Mazda2 has received 23 awards one of which is the New Zealand Car of the Year. It also ranked second in the European Car of the Year award. The Mazda2 is the highest ranked Japanese car in the said awards.
The number of awards given to the Mazda2 just shows that it has been designed to appease both consumers and the media. One of the reasons for the Mazda2's success is that it has gone smaller and lighter without sacrificing interior space. The reduced weight of the new Mazda2 means that it has become more agile than its already responsive predecessor.
The lowered weight also means that it consumes less fuel than its predecessor. This translates to better fuel economy and reduced production of greenhouse gases which is the main contributor to global warming. Apart from being equipped with a gas miser powertrain and reliable auto parts such as the Mazda turn signal, the new Demio or Mazda2 also posted positive marks for safety. It received five stars for adult occupant protection in the European New Car Assessment Program last year.

Mazda Motor Corp. is racking up awards. And the most recent auto industry darling is Mazda2 which was dubbed the 2008 World Car of the Year by a jury of international auto journalists. The announcement was made at the much-concluded New York Auto Show.
Mazda2, also called Demio, Mazda 121, Mazda Metro, and Ford Festiva mini wagon, is actually a small minivan or tall station wagon which was launched in 1996. The car was chosen by 47 jurors from an initial entry list of 39 vehicles. The top three cars picked includes Ford Mondeo, Mazda2 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, according to CanadianDriver.

Is There A Baltimore Mazda Dealer With Soul? : New Mazda car

Is There A Baltimore Mazda Dealer With Soul?
by Rex Freiberger
We inhabit a pretty jazzy place. People here act kind of funky some of the time, so it's best to know a Baltimore Mazda dealership that's really hip to your needs. Sometimes a car just rolls over on you and dies. It has just had all it can take and it can't take any more. You know what that's like.
If you are reading this, you probably feel favorably toward the Mazda name brand. I agree with you; it is absolutely the brand of choice for me. Mazda cars have clean lines and the seats fit just right. I am here to encourage you to think about your next car purchase. I have found that relationship prospecting at some car lots can be very helpful when it is time for your next car purchase.
Exactly what do you want from a Baltimore Mazda dealership? You have to answer that according to your own feelings, dude. I've always tried to make the acquaintance of the staff, even bring along a large pepperoni pizza for them. That way when you're ready to make a purchase, the guys are your pals. I'm suggesting a real relationship here. You need all the friends you can get at a dealership for the day your current car lays down and dies.
Owning your own car is an American dream. You may spend the months preceding your purchase dreaming about the perfect make or model. But the time spent dreaming is only part of the responsibility of owning a vehicle. With so many new models to choose from, a good consumer keeps informed about the latest automobile technology.
Additionally, it never hurts to give business to individuals you like. My car dealership does a great job in getting people into a vehicle they desire. Also, they are really helpful when it comes to maintenance. I usually get some free advice or accessories that will improve my car in just the way I want it.
One of the best things you can do is to network with the people that you know. Share your goals and desires, and help them out in return. This is one of the best strategies for not only car ownership, but life in general, and it really works. Try it out today and see for yourself!

Mazda Furai To Entice Detroit

Mazda Furai To Entice Detroit
by Anthony Fontanelle
A hot new supercar will be unleashed by Mazda Motor Corp. to entice Metro Detroit. Yes, the company's Furai, an awesome supercar which is engineered to pull crowds closer, flaunts catchy lines and superb performing mid-mounted rotary engine. The supercar will make its official debut at this year's North American International Auto Show.
The Furai, which means "sound of wind," is the fifth model in Mazda's lineup to sport the automaker's new design direction. It all started with the Nagare sports car which was launched at the Los Angeles Motor Show last year. Now, it's the Furai that will continue its legacy.
Although the creation of the vehicle is officially a design study, elements of the Furai's styling could be reflected on upcoming coupes from the automaker including the next generation RX-8.
The Furai inherits the sweeping nose of the Taiki concept, which was introduced at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The concept showcases flowing lines, precise vanes, as well as the silhouette of Mazda's corporate grille. It also boasts of the huge fighter-style canopy and deep air intakes ahead of the rear wheels. At the back there's a huge wing which is designed to produce plenty of downforce, dramatically curved rear wings and even more vanes on the engine cover.
The Furai was penned by Mazda's North American design boss, Franz Von Holzhausen, and its shape was developed at the company's styling studio in southern California in collaboration with motor racing experts at Swift Engineering, said the Auto Express. Swift Engineering worked hand in hand with the automaker's pools of engineers and designers to ensure efficiency and quality of the model. They also focused on ensuring accurate cooling of the motor at high temperatures.
The chassis of the Furai is from a racing sportscar - the Courage C65. Additionally, it is powered by a 450bhp mid-mounted three-rotor engine which runs on E100 bioethanol fuel, one of the friendliest to the environment. As such, the Furai is expected to lure aficionados who want the feel of a racetrack ride.
Furai's aerodynamic features such as a front air splitter, rear diffuser and special headlamp trims create downforce that stick the car to the road, while the car's sculpted bodywork helps achieve a top speed of 180mph, according to What Car? Those are the features that aficionados are anticipated to look forward to.
The concept car, which was initially unveiled last December, is expected to etch a niche in the auto industry. While some automakers feel the tough times in the industry, the maker of Mazda repair manual is positive it will survive with its new styling philosophy which does not compromise quality and reliability attached to the name of the automaker.

Mazda Launches Revised RX-8

Mazda Launches Revised RX-8
by Anthony Fontanelle
The Mazda Motor Corp. has launched its four-door, four-seater sports coupe RX-8 at this year's North American International Auto Show with a serious bang. The new generation coupe boasts of a refreshed styling and an improved performance to wow more auto enthusiasts.
The Japanese automaker restyled the front and rear bumpers, wheels, headlights, and LED taillights while retaining the traditional rear-hinged rear doors. What is more, the automaker made the exhaust pipes and alloy wheels bigger than the previous model.
The RX-8 entertained a stiffened body by using a bar between the front suspension towers. Aside from enhancing stability of the car, it is also resorted to improve handling. The gearing was also modified to make the car even faster.
"Dating back to the Cosmo Sport released in 1967, every sports car ever developed by Mazda has had the same fundamental mission - to provide car lovers with a vehicle that's fun-to-drive, exciting to look at and easy to own," said Tetsu Nakazawa, Mazda North American Operations' RX-8 vehicle line manager. "The new RX-8 embodies that mission, conveying the unique and distinctive Mazda brand DNA to the fullest."
To make the revision catchier, Mazda's pool of engineers zeroed in on innovation in three areas - styling, packaging and performance. "The enhancements made to RX-8's exterior, interior, packaging and performance takes it to a whole new level of visual and driving excitement," added Nakazawa.
Also, a flagship new sport package of the car will also be available. This will include a sport-tuned suspension, a body kit (with a new front bumper and side sills as well as fog lights and high-performance tyres) and Recaro front seats with leather side bolsters, reported Reuters.
The revised models are expected to go on sale in the United Kingdom in the summer. According to the maker of Mazda spark plugs, prices and specifications will be announced nearer the time.
Separately, Mazda will be entertaining the use of new skins to lure more shoppers. Because it still takes four to five years to create a new car, there is a gap before the design themes reach production, said Franz von Holzhausen, the director of design for Mazda North American Operations.
"You will see this design philosophy in the future," von Holzhausen said last Wednesday at the AutoWeek Design Forum. "If Mazda doesn't evolve and reinvent its "skin," it runs the risk of becoming obsolete. Look at BMW. They recreated their skin. It was controversial but now they are selling more cars because of it."

Mazda Unveils Touched Up MPV

Mazda Unveils Touched Up MPV
by Anthony Fontanelle
Japanese automaker Mazda launched the third generation of the MPV in February last year. During the unveiling of the said vehicle, Mazda highlighted that they have designed the vehicle around the principles of aggressiveness and luxury. Recently, The Auto Channel reported that the automaker has freshened up the look of the MPV to further make the MPV synonymous with being aggressive and luxurious at the same time.
On the outside, the automaker gave the front end of the MPV a bolder look, no doubt in adherence to the aggressive look that they want for the vehicle. They were able to do this by giving the MPV new chrome auto body parts. This was complemented by new upper and lower grilles. At the back, the rear combination lights was redesigned giving the MPV a new look from the back.
Apart from these changes, the MPV was also given a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. Three colors are also available for the MPV which are Metropolitan Grey Mica, Lilac Silver Metallic, and Diamond Grey Metallic.
The changes made to the MPV were not only done for the exterior. Inside the MPV, Mazda maintained the sporty appearance that the previous model had but freshened the vehicle up by adding decorative trims. Chrome parts are also used on the interior of the vehicle. The addition of the said accent pieces increased the quality level of the MPV's cockpit.
When it comes to comfort, Mazda enhanced the MPV's with the 'Super Relax Seats' which are designed to give maximum comfort to its occupants. A 'nanoe ion' air purification system is also offered with the MPV. Other improvements made to the MPV were the addition of certain optional features like sand-beige leather seat covers, leather wrapped steering wheel in wood grain pattern, and heated front seats.
As for the performance of the new MPV, the vehicle is now equipped with a five-speed automatic transmission. The said gearbox is now standard equipment for MZR 2.3-liter naturally-aspirated engines with front-wheel drive configuration. This is expected to attract the attention of many customers looking for sporty vehicles.
The improvements made to the MPV shows that the automaker is dedicated to offering quality vehicles to their consumers. The MPV's new features are expected to be as reliable as Acura CL brake dust shields. The freshened MPV is available only in Japan and can cost between 2,500,000 and 3,600,000 yen. For that amount though, consumers will be getting a very good deal.

Mazda 16x: The Future of the Rotary Engine

Mazda 16x: The Future of the Rotary Engine
by Cody Miller
The Mazda RX2, Mazda RX3, Mazda RX4, Mazda RX7 and now Mazda RX8 are all examples of successful rotary engine sports cars. The New Mazda 16x Rotary Engine should further popularize this offbeat combustion engine which features (as rotaries always have) a compact design with an exceptional power-to-weight ratio all in just 1.6 Liters.
Mazda is calling this new rotary engine the “long-stroke rotary engine.” As you may already know, the 13B rotary engine has a displacement of just 1300cc, which is 1.3 Liters. While the Mazda 16x has an engine displacement of 1600cc (800cc x 2), which is 1.6 Liters; and though they’ve made the 16x significantly larger than the 13B - it weighs less than a 13B. This is due to aluminum side housings, which Mazda says shouldn’t scare us.
Mazda’s aim here is “greater thermal efficiency” - which basically means, any car powered by the Mazda 16x is going to move like stink. Mazda says this [thermal efficiency] will increase torque at all engine speeds. (Rotary engines are notorious for having low torque, especially on the low-end.)
They’ve also added Direct Fuel Injection so you can expect the 16x to be considerably more economical compared to rotaries of the past. Harmful emissions will be greatly reduced as well and power should be slightly increased compared to common multi-point fuel injected rotaries such as the 13B. This should lean the fuel-air mixture out as well and may improve the rotaries nasty habit of flooding every time you move her down the street a block.
Mazda has done incredible things with their light and sporty 1.3 Liter 13B " just imagine what they can do with this new Mazda 16x! Better yet, just imagine what you could do with this new Mazda 16x rotary engine! Unfortunately, however, Mazda has yet to announce a production vehicle to carry the 16x. The closest we’ve gotten is the Mazda Taiki, a far-out prototype developed by Mazda under the “Nagare”(which is, Japanese for “flow”) concept of design.
So when will we see this new rotary engine in action?
Many expected this new rotary engine to appear in the 2009 Mazda RX8, but when the cover was pulled off at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, we saw nothing but the Mazda 13B MSP Renesis engine beneath it’s glimmering hood.
To answer the question; your guess is as good as mine.

Mazda Develops Rear Collision Warning System

Mazda Develops Rear Collision Warning System
by Anthony Fontanelle
Mazda Motor Corp. announced Wednesday that it has developed a safety system that warns drivers who are trying to change lanes of vehicles approaching from behind. The rear collision warning system will be an option starting with the new Atenza to be released at month’s end.
The innovative system from the Japanese automaker kicks in when the vehicle go beyond 60 kilometer per hour. The said system is engineered to detect vehicles in the adjacent lanes which are 50 meters behind.
An LED turns on to alert the driver of vehicles approaching from behind, and if the driver activates the turn signals at that time, the system warns of the possibility of a collision via a sound and flashing LED, divulged Trading Markets.
In the past, other automakers have introduced similar safety systems. Volkswagen AG, Europe’s largest automaker, has also unveiled a safety system that senses an approaching car from behind and alerts the driver when trying to change lanes. The system was introduced in vehicles in the European continent.
The manufacturer of Mazda plug wires, meanwhile, noted that this would be the very first time that such safety system is installed in a vehicle for the Japanese market.
Separately, the Japanese automaker, with the goal of keeping pace with the intensifying auto competition, releases an updated version of the Axela in Japan. The first generation Axela, dubbed as Mazda3 in overseas market, is a sports compact which was introduced for the 2004 model year.
Mazda said the modification made to the exterior design enlivens the vehicle's appearance. The design covers chrome door handles and expanded use of black molding on the rear bumper. Interior quality, meanwhile, was also enhanced with the addition of piano black parts on the power window switch bezels, center panel, and other interior areas of the vehicle. Additionally, chrome parts were chosen for select levers and buttons. This is done to enhance the vehicle’s elegance.
The Japanese automaker said all models in the range, including the four-door Axela, five-door Axela Sport and Mazdaspeed Axela, sport remarkable improvements. They are available at all Mazda, Mazda Anfini and Mazda Autozam dealerships across the nation.

Mazda To Showcase Mazda2 In Geneva

Mazda To Showcase Mazda2 In Geneva
by Anthony Fontanelle
Japanese automaker Mazda announced recently that they would be unveiling a three-door hatchback version of the very popular Mazda2 later this year. According to the company's newsletter, they will be adding the three-door hatchback for the first time in their offered lineup of the Mazda2.
According to Mazda, the Mazda2 three-door hatchback has the same attributes as the five-door hatchback which has become very popular among car enthusiasts. Furthermore, the three-door hatchback was made to look sportier and to handle better. Apart from those attributes, the three-door Mazda2 will also be priced much lower than the five-door Mazda2 variant.
One of the biggest events of its kind, the 78th Geneva International Auto Show, will be where the Japanese automaker will unveil the new variant of the Mazda2. The said motor show will be held from March 4 until March 16 this year. The said event is expected to draw a lot of attention and the new Mazda2 variant is expected to be a show stealer.
Mazda has been known to be focusing on the very stable European auto market. Thus, the Mazda2 variant which they will unveil at the Geneva International Auto Show has been designed to suit the taste of European auto buyers. The automaker gave three available engines for the three-door hatchback. The first one is a 1.3-liter gasoline engine and the second is a slightly bigger 1.5 liter gas engine. The third engine option is the same MZ-CD 1.4-liter common rail turbo diesel found on the five-door hatchback.
True to the automaker's fight against climate change, the three engines have been designed to produce very little greenhouse gas. This is achieved while not sacrificing the performance that consumers have expected from the Japanese automaker.
To date, the Mazda2 has already received much praise and awards. According to the company's newsletter, the Mazda2 has received awards from different countries. "Launched in September 2007 as Mazda's first new-generation Zoom-Zoom vehicle to evolve to the next level, the new Mazda2 was an immediate hit with European customers," reads the company's newsletter.
"In December 2007, it was awarded five stars for adult occupant protection on Euro-NCAP crash testing and has won more than 20 automotive awards. These include Car of the Year awards in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Greece and New Zealand, along with the Japan RJC Car of the Year."
The Japanese automaker is sure to attract more consumers into their dealerships across Europe. The new three-door hatchback variant of the Mazda2 is equipped with auto reliable components which have been designed and manufactured along with Mazda Tribute parts.
